Welcome to the Medical Practice of Sara Marciniszyn-Worden MD.
Dr. Sara Marciniszyn-Worden grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. She received her B.A. in Neuroscience from Brandeis University in 1996. During her undergraduate years she pursued research activities at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and has numerous publications. Before entering medical school she extended her energies and abilities to AmeriCorps, the domestic Peace Corps. While in AmeriCorps she worked in public health and with a children’s literacy program. Dr. Marciniszyn-Worden received her M.D. from Wright State University School of Medicine in Ohio in 2001. She completed her General Surgery residency at Akron City Hospital in 2006 and her fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery in 2007 from Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. She is board certified in general surgery and colon & rectal surgery.
Dr. Marciniszyn-Worden has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery and since 2001 has performed thousands of laparoscopic cases. She specializes in diseases of the colon, rectum and anus. Areas of expertise include: laparoscopic colon and rectal surgery, Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, colon and rectal cancers, colon polyps, polyposis syndromes, hemorrhoids, diverticular disease, anal fissures, anal fistulas, colonoscopy, fecal incontinence, hernia repairs, and gallbladder surgery.
Dr. Marciniszyn-Worden has hospital privileges at Christus Santa Rosa Hospitals, Methodist Health System and Baptist Health System. She has offices downtown and at Westover Hills. She is former Chairperson of the Department of Surgery at Christus Santa Rosa Westover Hills Hospital. Dr. Marciniszyn-Worden looks forward to helping you with your surgical needs.
